Pedestrian crossing at Rainbow Bridge
The classic. Walk from the Canadian side near the Skylon Tower onto the bridge. CAD 1 toll at the booth (cash or contactless). Walk across in 8 to 12 minutes, enjoying the view of both falls and the gorge below. US Customs office on the US side, expect 5 to 30 minutes wait depending on the time. Show your passport, answer the standard questions, you are in the US.
Driving across at Rainbow Bridge
Lanes get long fast in summer. Avoid 11 AM to 3 PM. Cars queue can reach 60 minutes. Use the express lane if you have NEXUS or commercial tags. CAD 5 toll per car. US Customs questions are the same: where do you live, what is the purpose of your visit, how long will you be in the US, do you have anything to declare.
